Soaring Stations: Tacos & Tequila

Join us on Saturday, May 6, for an elevated dining event that’s sure to have your tastebuds soaring! Guests will enjoy a "cocktail hour" experience with interactive stations, displays, and, of course, a delectable menu crafted by Catering at the Zoo Executive Chef Allison Walts featuring food and beverage from South America in celebration of our Harris hawks. This event has been designed to bring awareness to the threats facing bird species in the wild and educate our guests about what we can do to protect them, all while delighting your tastebuds. This event will take place outside in our Amphitheater space, weather permitting. Please dress accordingly. 

Seating will not be assigned at this event.

5:30 p.m. Doors Open
5:45 p.m. Stations and Beverages Open
6 p.m. Hors D'oeuvres
7 p.m. Hawk Flyover
7:30 p.m. Desserts

MENU

ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES:

  • Margarita Wall (featuring 3 different styles of margaritas)

NON-ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES:

  • Aguas Frescas display (fresh blended fruit juices)

TACOS STATIONS:

  • Chicken Verde

COLD SALADS:

  • Grilled corn & black bean

  • Watermelon, cotija, & herbs
  • Zoo Caesar

HOT STATION:

  • Esquites (street corn in a cup!)
  • Borracho beans
  • House-fried tortilla chips

PASSED HORS D'OUEVRES:

  • Grilled pineapple & bacon skewers
  • Chicken tinga quesadillas w/avocado ranch
  • Tostadas w/refried beans & dressed red cabbage
